Do you have sore feet? Well we may have a solution for you!

Foot Mobilization Therapy (FMT) is a gentle hands-on technique which helps to bring more mobility to your feet and temporarily relieve the pain from everyday activity.

FMT is similar to physiotherapy or chiropractic therapy but specific to your foot and ankles. It involves gently manipulating the joints of your feet to promote better alignment, increased blood flow, and decreased pain.

The best and most lasting results from FMT come from a comprehensive treatment package. This package involves 6 treatments spread over 3 weeks (2 treatments per week). The treatments are very fast and efficient, about 15-20 minutes and can be done on your lunch or coffee break so you can get back to your busy day. After those initial 6 treatments, most patients can maintain the benefits by coming in once a month for a quick adjustment.

The treatment is also combined with a stretching and strengthening program for your feet. Done regularly, these exercises can make a huge difference in the overall health and comfort of your feet. They are easy and can generally be completed in about 10 minutes.

FMT is a great option for:

  • General soreness from wearing office shoes daily
  • Arthritic foot pain

In the meanwhile, get a head start and try the below techniques to help ease foot pain:

  • Arch Stretch and Massage: cross your leg over the opposite leg and pull back on the toes towards your shin to feel a deep stretch in your arch, hold for 30-60 seconds. At the same time, gently massage the arch along the length of the foot – repeat with the other foot.
  • Marble Pick-Up: place up to 10 marbles on the floor in front of you and from a seated position, attempt to use only your toes to pick each marble up – repeat with the other foot
  • Epsom Salt Soak: fill a basin with lukewarm to warm water and about 2 tbsp of Epsom or table salt. Pamper yourself and your tender toes with a 15-20 minute soak. Towel dry feet and apply your favourite foot cream or an arnica-based cream which can be found at Shopper’s Drug Mart or health food stores and contains natural anti-inflammatory properties – added bonus: your skin will be much softer!
